This super high alpha variety, like Tomahawk and Zeus, has the same female parent as Nugget making all of them at least half-sisters to Nugget.
Columbus is used as a bittering hop with an intense, pungent aroma and has a high resistance to mildew and other disease.
Together with Tomahawk® and Zeus, Columbus belongs to the esteemed super high alpha trio CTZ. Alongside Cascade and Centennial, it’s also part of the famous Three Cs, imparting pungent aromas of citrus and woodsy resin.
